Commercial Business Partner

We’re looking for a dynamic and commercially minded Commercial Business Partner to join our finance team and support the operational heart of our organisation. In this pivotal role, you will act as a trusted advisor to senior operational leaders - helping shape business strategy, drive financial performance, and ensure contract profitability. You'll use your financial expertise to influence key decisions, from investment planning to pricing models, always with a clear eye on delivering better services for our clients.

This is a full-time permanent role, working from our office in Aberdeen.

What You Will Do

As a Commercial Business Partner, you’ll play a critical role in driving performance and growth. Your responsibilities will include:

• Partnering with the Senior Management Team to support strategic and operational goals.
• Providing financial insight into business decisions, including: bids, tenders, and investments.
• Delivering insightful monthly management accounts and financial reporting.
• Developing and tracking KPIs to measure business performance.
• Supporting pricing, costing, and investment evaluations to improve profitability.
• Leading the annual budget and planning process with operational teams.
• Mentoring non-financial colleagues to improve financial understanding across the business.
• Building strong internal relationships to foster collaboration and shared success.
• Identifying opportunities for cost efficiencies and financial improvement.
• Leading, developing, and inspiring your finance team to deliver excellence.

About You

We’re looking for someone who’s not just good with numbers, but also passionate about making a difference through strategic finance. You’ll bring a mix of commercial acumen, leadership, and people skills to the table. You will:

• Be a fully qualified accountant with strong commercial experience.
• Have a proven track record of partnering with senior operational leaders to drive results.
• Thrive in dynamic, high-pressure environments with multiple priorities.
• Be confident translating complex financial data into meaningful actions.
• Possess strong Excel, PowerPoint, and financial systems expertise.
• Demonstrate excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Show initiative, adaptability, and a continuous improvement mindset.
• Be a strong mentor and team leader who develops talent and inspires others.
• Hold a valid UK Driving Licence.
